Abstract
Clean Plant Design (CPD) criteria were successfully integrated into the design and construction of a
recently completed industrial minerals processing plant, which includes a negative pressure, pulse-jet
dust control baghouse.
CPD principles are first discussed in general terms. Comparisons are then drawn between these
principles, and how they were specifically applied to the new facility as well as to the dust control
baghouse design.
This paper demonstrates that it is possible to successfully integrate CPD theory into the design of a
large-scale facility. Furthermore, the CPD principles may also be applied to baghouse design concepts.
